Lease and Service Charges Question
Hi all, I'm not a lawyer and was looking for an opinion on this situation I ran into with my Texas apartment management. Background: When I moved apartments, I contacted the power company to switch my service to a new address starting on the beginning of my new lease.

Landlord refusing deposit in writing
Where to begin I leased a house in Missouri and Lived there for 7 months. I never saw a lease and requested a copy on multiple different occasions. I notified her of me moving out and she stated that I wouldn’t be getting my deposit back due to breaking the lease

Can Landlord Keep My entire Security Deposit?
There’s a lot more to this story but this is the gist of it as it stands now. My lease started on 3/18/11 but I was unable to move in for medical reasons

Can I be forced to pay utilities if I’m moving to Switzerland?
Sorry this is going to be a long question. I didn't know how to ask it without putting in all the details... Thanks for reading! First, a little bit of background information: I have been living in an apartment in Colorado for almost two years with two roommates.

Gas company obligating me to pay bill in roomates name
Can the gas company obligate me to pay a gas bill that was in my roomates name. We had an arrangement whereby I was responsible for some of the utilities and he was responsible for the gas bill.

Withholding Personal Property?
My situation is a little complex, please bear with me, but I am under a considerable amount of stress and have nowhere else to turn to. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety, and have also been trying to get on disability, as I have been so high-strung as of late that I keep having panic attacks and sleep paralysis, so please forgive me if I jump around a bit in my paragraphs. I originally lived in RI for my entire life

Insurance premium plus low FICO score equal greater risk (i.e., rates?)
I just received my homeowners insurance renewal and as I read through it I noticed a paragraph: "Consumer reports may be used to determine the price you are charged. We may also obtain and use a credit-based insurance score from information contained in these reports. We may use a third party in conection with the development of your insurance score." Maybe folks with low credit scores are more likely to have their houses catch fire? Or have their roofs blown away in a storm? In the past at least one major insurance company jacked up rates on otherwise safe drivers simply because they had low credit scores while at the same time the largest electric company in my state charged more per kw hour to customers with subprime credit (on top of security deposits, late payment fees, disconnect and reconnect fees, and everything else they could think of to keep a struggling snook down.) But that's life in a edited state where the insurance board and the utilities commission don't give a hoot. Edited to remove a political reference, which is one of the five things we can't talk about on these forums - llecs, myFICO moderator

Landlord disconnected utilities, refused to submit documents to utility company
I moved into an apartment August 1, 2010. I immediately contacted the utility company to have the electric, heat, and cooking gas switched to my name, as it was in the landlords name for July 29 and 30, as they were cleaning the apartment from the previous tenant.

Business Tenant keeps breaking leases, switching to new LLC (or unregistered entity)
The short version: [We are now pro se Plaintiffs, having dismissed "full service law firm" after they made more of a mess of things. Supposed Tenant went Bankrupt during these proceedings.] We had a business tenant who approached us with the arrangement; we were not otherwise seeking this particular tenant situation, but it was a reputable firm - or so we thought. The rent was late immediately.
