Mortgage or Home Equity Loan?
My maternal granparents just moved out of a house that belongs to my dad. He is now going to give us the house. We have about $ 60,000 we want to spend on paying off some bills and remodeling the house. What is the best way to go about this a Mortgage when we get the house or a Home equity Loan?
The $ 60,000 is not set aside in savings this is what we would need to borrow. The bills are for high intrest credit cards and then most of it would be for renavations.
This is not our first home, we are currently in a home with a morgage with USAA so we know all the ins and outs of a morgage.

Wow. Did not know I was such a bad person
I opened a savings and checking account online through USAA two days ago. I just received a response back stating that my accounts would be closed and that I would not be a member. The reason was listed as due to "moral turpitude". I have never been arrested, hit my wife, or caused any other problems. In fact, I volunteer with Special Olympics, run the Toys for Tots drive at our work, and pride myself on being a wonderful father. The only thing I have done is have some charged off credit card accounts. That is it. How could they even remotely state moral turpitude as a reason? That is extremely insulting to me.

Inquiry 2 Year Period Over Recently – Still Appearing – Is this Normal?
Gang: I had a hard inquiry on 12/31/08. I've pulled my USAA Credit Monitoring a couple times and it is still showing up. I'm anticipating a bump in my score so should I be: A) Drafting a Letter B) Ditching the Fako reports C) Not being so neurotic Is there any lag in inquiries appearing or disappearing? Thanks

Robo Calls from CAs – not my debts
This may be painfully long but I'm wondering whether I have an cause of action already (are robo-calls for collections per se illegal and are there statutory damages), and what happens if these clowns try to post something to my CR based just on name and address.
