total loss payout. finance company hounds
My question is in 2009 my vehicle was involved in an accident by my ex-fiance and the insurance paid the total loss of the vehicle which they said was worth less than the loan, the finace excepted the total loss payout, and then came after me two years later for the remaining balance on the loan deducting the total loss payout. 1

Got booted out of 700 club today :(
My TU quarterly monitoring report updated and my score dropped from 700 to 698 because my utilization is reporting as 37%. In reality, it is 1%. I paid off a bunch of closed cards and only some of them have reported as paid. Looking forward to the score boost when the remaining two accounts update with $0 balance. My statements cut on the 7th and 8th, so not much longer. The wait has been maddening. 700 club, I'll be back soon.

Laid off and can’t pay mortgage – what’s the outcome?
So - here's the breakdown... We live in CA, and have a home that we bought 7 years ago. Originally, we had it financed with 2 loans -- a first and second both 5 year fixed/then variable - no home equity line of credit.

Pay off high interest card or save
Currently im debatting with myself as to what i should do with left over cash from tax return. i can pay off a credit card with a rate of nearly 24% apr while still keeping a partial of the return left over to help create a emergency fund.

Hey guys, Just wanted to share my results so far. 4/9/09 my fico was at 442 and had about 18 accounts that were in bad standing. I paid off 16 accounts, settled the remaining 2.

Sold car to friend w/o contract – small claims?
a few years ago, I sold my car to a family friend with the expectation of her paying the remaining balance of $4K. We had a verbal agreement and I paid off the remaining balance so the title could be signed over to her mother - the title had to be transferred to mother in order for the vehicle to be covered by insurance. Payments were made to me off and on for about six months until the family friend totaled the vehicle - no payments have been made since
