tax on spousal support
Because my husband has been hiding money and cheating on income taxes (the forensic accountant's report just substantiated that claim) I have been receiving minimal temporary spousal support ($750/mo) for all of 2009. The taxes I owe are more then 1 month's support

Father wanting custody because mother is never around
My boyfriend shares custody 50/50 with his ex wife of their twin 7 yr old boys (no child support they just share child care). For the past 2 years, the days she is suppose to have them, she leaves them with her mother so she can go to her boyfriends house

Child Tax Credit for Parent with Physical Custody
If two parents have never been married and the mother has claimed the child on her taxes for thirteen (13) years, which parent has the legal right to claim the child on their taxes?

Sorry for posting in the wrong forum but it wouldnt let me post in the tax forum. If you have already gotten your taxes done can your mom have them done again, through a different person then you, and claim you, even though you have already claimed yourself?

Landlord wants 12 months upfront…but…
We found an apartment we really liked, at $2400, which is over our budget. Landlord offered to give us 1 month free if we paid full year upfront, meaning a net rent of $2200, at the top of our budget.

We found an apartment we really liked, at $2400, which is over our budget. Landlord offered to give us 1 month free if we paid full year upfront, meaning a net rent of $2200, at the top of our budget. We were about to sign a lease, but since that's over $28K to hand over, I did an NYC property search and ACRIS search, and found out the owner has never once paid property tax in the 3 years he owned the building, and the tax lien was about to be sold to a collection agency.

Is my lump sum payout from separation agreement tax deductible?
