Stolen Cell Phone

About eight months ago my children stayed with their maternal grandmother for a week while I was out of town. While I was gone I let my oldest son use a spare prepaid cell phone so that he could contact me in case of an emergency. When returning home he left the phone at his grandparents house and it was taken by his mother

Grand Larceny – Virginia

I dont expect help for my case, but I would like to know how much time I am facing if found guilty. Here is the scenario: My father called a church about obtaining a aluminum steeple that was dismantled and on the church property and had been sitting out there for years. My father was told he had permission to get the steeple after several calls.

Bigger Credit Score Hit: Refinance or SlowPay?

I've been unemployed for a while and with the benefits about to expire,  I inquired about refinancing my 2 auto loans with my credit union. The credit union offered to temporarily reduce the payments for the next 6-8 months instead of refinancing, but would report as a slow pay. Payment reduction in both scenarios is about 50% I expect to return to work within that time frame, either as part or full time and then resume full payments (reduction scenario) or if able to double up on the payments (refinance scenario)

Judge knows hundreds of cases he is hearing are completely lacking of evidence

I have thought about this so long that I must apologize to you, gentle readers, for being unable to conceal my disgust with the whole process which is fetid at best. IS THE JUDGE CONDUCTING HIMSELF ETHICALLY ACCORDING TO HIS JUDICIAL OATH???

Multiple Credit Inquiries?

Here's the scenario:   About two years ago, I wanted to lease a Car.  The dealership I applied at had 9 !!!  yes 9 different lease companies working on it.  This shows up as 7+ credit inquiries on my credit/FICO score.  Is there anything I can do to reduce the number of these that are showing up on my report?  Here's what I have tried so far:   1.    Tried to contact the Dealership - They are out of business. 2.    Called freecreditreport.com (I am a member)

Patent denied.. Now have Patent Pending Copycat.

Towards the end of July 2005 we filed for a patent on a Feed Sensor Control for a hog confinement building. Eventually hearing back from out lawyer that the patent was not granted due to the idea not being novel enough. Now, several years later a corporation much larger than ours has reverse engineered our product and has it marked as patent pending

Who does the account belong to? Who do I pay?

Hi All,       Newbie here.   So the scenario is as follows:   I have a collection by Cap1 for $1479.    The original line of credit is $500.    they have hired a local law firm to take the account, as well as the NAN.  Basically, the law firm states that NAN is their client.  Neither NAN or the law firm are on my credit report.  Capital1 is.  But the law firm tried to take me to court to update account info, like my name, address, etc...  They also are willing to do a settlement, but said they could not do a PFD because their client, NAN, must make that decision.    My questions are:   1.  Are they even allowed to collect being that they're not on my report?  2.  Who do I pay?  NAN, Cap1, or the law firm. 3.  According to VA STate law, they cannot take me to court over this as the final date of activity was 1/2006.  Virginia State Law says that the SOL is 3 years for an open account.  Is this correct?

Ex filing bankruptcy?

I have a friend who went through a divorce a few years ago. When she was married, she had signed as secondary co-applicant for his truck.   After their divorce, the judge telling her she was not liable for his debts, etc., she was surprised to see her credit score was damaged severely because he stopped paying on the truck and split town(the state even!), and the truck was repo'd.
