Apartment Rental Question
I ran 2 tenant backround checks on myself as I am going to be moving to new apartment soon. The report indicated that a former landlord filed a demand with a New York City Civil Court in 2006 for late payment. I was never served with the demand and could not find the case or demand for payment when I went to the Court to research the problem

Protecting my house
Bought my house prior to being married...thru out marrage I have always been the one to pay all bills related to the mortage,taxes,fireinsurane,up keep and mantaince of home with just the money I earned, while my wife refused to help in any way, saying it was not her home ( yet she has no problem living here for free) and banking all her money into private accounts...so she saves and I spend to try and make ends meet. Something breaks its either I pay to get it fixed or it don't happen.Can any ot this work in my favor in court as to possibly keeping my house...just does not seem right that she should get any part of it...I would rather sell it to a relative for next to nothing just to keep it from her...could I do this...all of the papers are in my name only. Or could I take out a large equity loan on property by myself..??
