Applied for card online and someone called an OLD phone/address as fraud alert
I applied for a Capital One card online last week (moving abroad and they don't have foreign transaction fees). I was approved immediately. A couple days later my parents said someone called them from Capital One saying there was a fraud alert that someone was trying to open a card in my name, and gave an 800 number to call, but my parents didn't take down the info. I haven't lived at their address in over ten years, and in fact their area code has changed in the meantime so old credit report entries wouldn't have had the right phone number anyway (not that it's that hard to look that up elsewhere). I've lived in several other places in the meantime, but of course don't know if someone tried to contact those places too. It doesn't seem like coincidence, but why would they contact a really old number like that? I gave current contact information and it matches what's on my credit reports, and they have emailed me already to say they shipped the new card, so I guess they didn't think there was fraud after all. Is this normal and should I be concerned

Mortgage Finance Experts: How will the market affect homeowners who will be refinancing next year?

My parents bought the house 4 years ago at a rate of 4%, which is due to change next year when their loan rates. With the strengthening of the market and stricter lending again, which will be required to produce the result, are concerned about the refinancing was in Serbian for them. The good news is that they have an impeccable credit (they are able to remove their SMEs, and are above their payments every month — and pay an extra couple of hundred dollars so far they should. Not to mention the card card debt is very low (only a few thousand dollars). They were both excellent jobs to pay more than ten years but have always worried whether they will be able to get a decent fixed rate when refinancing their bonds increased. hope?

How Do I Keep To The Center Of The Lane Instead Of Wandering?
I’ve started learning how to drive and I noticed my biggest issue is keeping myself in the center of my lane – as in I start wandering too much to the right side.
My instructor and my parents keep telling me to “stay in the middle of the lane” but I honestly don’t know how to tell if I’m too much to the left/right.
Nothing is wrong with the tires of the car.
Is there any tips or tricks I could use to align the car correctly? Like matching some part of the car with the lines or such?

If my parents become co-borrowers will I qualify for a better mortgage?
My boyfriend and I would like to buy a house. Together we earn only around $ 48k a year gross. I have about $ 20k in debt including student loans but overall our credit is pretty good (about 740). The problem is that we live in MD where housing prices are ridiculous unless you want to live in the ghetto. The average home cost in my county is $ 350k. There is no way that we will be able to afford to live in this state.
I was wondering if it would be possible to have my parents become co-borrowers on a mortage. Will we be able to qualify for a bigger loan if my parents agree to sign with us? Is it even possible to have that many people on a mortgage? When we advance in our careers we would eventually refinance and remove them from the loan.

Would anyone be able to explain the value of refinancing a home loan…?
I’ve recently purchased my parents home in order to free up income for them so they can live a better lifestyle and have more “throw” away income later in their life.
My situation is this: I refi’d their home instead of getting a traditional mortgage with a rate of 6.35ish in Sept. I am set up on a 20yr bi-weekly payment which should pay off in 17 years without putting any additional monies onto each payment (thank you to one of my friends for giving me that information about the bi-weekly payments. Saving 3 years right off the bat was very awesome…).
With the rates going so low lately should I consider refinancing in order to lower payments and/or timeframe of the loan?

My parents co-signed my mortgage . Can they get another mortgage if I show that I make all the payments?
They co-signed for me 2 1/2 years ago. They also have a mortgage they pay on but they would like to buy a vacation home and have been holding off because they think they can’t qualify for another loan because they co-signed for me. If I can show a mortgage lender that I make all the payments on my loan would that help?

General warranty deed state of Texas home exemption question?
My parents co signed on the loan for my home. Since they did this, I cannot claim 100% homestead exemption in the state of Texas. If my parents sign themselves off of the Warranty deed, can I claim 100% Homestead exemption?
Can my parents even take themselves off the deed without changing their status on the mortgage?
Thank you very much!
I don’t want them off of my mortgage, just off of the warranty deed therefore allowing me to claim 100% Homestead exemption. I have good credit but I work for myself and a lot of my income is not shown therefore I cannot legally claim it to my mortgage broker. So.. I need my parents on the mortgage. I have never missed a payment on anything.

Can i get a mortgage as Full time Student? (UK)?
HI there. I am a fulltime student, 3rd year. Will be working over summer for a company with appx earning of £3000. I got £4000 savings. My parents are unemployed. I could borrow money from my older brother…probably around £10000. I dont have any students loans, or other debts.
I was thinking to buy a property and let it. Preferably in London area since there supposed to be high rents. What you think is it possible for me to get a mortgage?
