Who is responsible for utility bill caused by defective plumbling?
Hello, I rent a 3/2 in Georgia. When we moved in one of the toilets immediately started having problems. Soon (within 2 months) It stopped working completely.

Challenged bill went to a collection ageny
My daughter (18) was informed that she was no longer covered by my insurance. She went to the hospital and since the hospital had my insurance on file, they used it.

Medical Collections
I have a collection acct from a medical company showing up on my Equifax credit report (not the other 2) It JUST showed up in 2009! Equifax TransUnion Experian Reported Not Reported Not Reported Collector: MEDICAL Account Number: D1747XXXX Date Opened: 10/2005 Balance Date: 10/2009 Balance Amount: $234 Date of Status: 10/2009 Status: Closed I HONESTLY believe I paid the bill...but I contacted the collection company and they say I have to have PROOF that I paid (cancelled checks)! This was from 2005..I don't have the cancelled checks...I guess I will contact my bank and see if I can go back that far?? The collection agency offered me a 25% discount to "settle", but it is my understanding that wont take it OFF my credit report, it will just show PAID?

Collection on credit report
I bought a home last year, which was contingent on my own house selling. We had already moved out and setup utilities at the new house, but our buyer never qualified and the whole deal crumbled. By the time I cancelled the electric service at the new house, the owners had racked up a $650 electric bill. When I called to dispute the bill, the electric provider said that since it was in my name I had to pay the bill. I did not think this was fair and sent the bill and a letter explaining the situation to the owners. I never heard anything else about it until I checked my FICO score and it had tumbled to 654. I had assumed that they paid the bill and had no idea that the bill was still outstanding. When I had checked my score in March, it was 756, with no sign of a collection on the report. I never received any collection notices or letters from the electric provider or the collection agency. Needless to say, I will pay the bill, but is there a way to get the collection off my record? I have always had decent credit and have a long history with no past dues. It's a bummer that my credit has to be ruined due to a misunderstanding. I filed a dispute with Transunion and their resolution was no change. I am awaiting resolution from Equifax, but don't expect them to change anything.

Hello, I was sitting in bar and got drunk then ask by bouncer of bar to leave when I was ready to leave then bouncer ask me to sign the bill because I never drink all the drinks I denied to sign and only wanted to pay for the drink I had I ask the cops to help me getting my credit card and ID back cops told me either I have to sign or he will take me to Jail and denied to sign and I got locked up now I have trail in court regarding this matter(on 21June) Poloce office lock me and put the charges of "Theft of service" for $36 .

Gas Bill…..will they go to court?

Very Basic HIPAA question
Just want to make sure that I am understanding the HIPAA correctly...if you have already had the bill go to collections, and you paid the bill through the CA, then this process will not work, correct? And if this is the case, once it is a paid collection on your report, then there is really nothing you can do other than the normal dispute methods?
