Is it worth using a mortgage broker?
Hi, I’m in the market to purchase a house. Most of my co-workers and friends have gone straight to banks without going through a broker and advice me to not waste money on mortgage brokers. However, I also hear that a broker’s service is worth it, since s/he can look into and compare rates from various banks and get the best rates for you.
So, is it worth using a mortgage broker? I already applied through a mortgage brokerage company and received an approval for a loan (I believe that I’m not under any obligation to use their service) with an interest rate of 5% (30 year fixed).
What are some things to consider when deciding if it’s worth using a broker? How much fees do they typically charge? What are some things in fees to watch out for? How much/what kinds of fees are too much?
Thank you!

How to stop repeated inaccurate info posted to credit record?
Since identity theft 2006 that took my credit scores from mid 700s to low 500s, I've managed to clear off the bad accounts and have attempted to reconstruct my credit. Currently scores are 769 TransUnion, 751 Exquifax and Experian was 721 when Broker pulled credit 30 days ago when preapproved for mtg. I use two watch servcices and keep very close watch on my credit report. Since January CheckRite has posted collections dating 2005 - 2006 for $138 Jan, $171 Feb, $175 Mar and now $177 Apr on Experian only. Each month alerts fire, I review the collection and I dispute online. Each month they are removed. But before my score can recalculate, CheckRite posts collection when they submit data to Experian. NONE OF THESE ARE MINE, but I'm suffering with my score being negatively impacted.

When do you stop paying home insurance on a foreclosed home?
When do you stop paying home insurance on a foreclosed home?
Our house was not sold at auction and now reverted to lender? We kept up with the home insurance. When does our obligation end for the home insurance? The realtor we talked to that was assigned to the home said we would be given 14 to 30 days before we had to move out. He would work on the 30 days. Our insurance is due the 25th are we still obligated to pay the insurance past that point or has the lender put their own insurance on the home? Our insurance agent has not returned my call into him.

When the property is no longer yours, you can stop paying insurance.

Small claims option?
My wife divorced her ex in Idaho in 2007. In the divorce decree, it was ordered that he assumed liability of several of the community debts. When recently applying for a home equity loan, her credit report shows many delinquencies on the accounts that he was to assume

I tried not to waste anyone's time by asking redundant questions, so I have been searching "myfico" for a question that is similar to mine, but to no avail. I have worked hard to improve my credit worthiness and every little bit of information helps

Revoking of Power of Attorney
Our parents gave my brothers and I each a commercial property as inheritance. Even though they transferred the rights legally, they cannot seem to stop themselves from meddling in the affairs of the property and insisted on controlling the rent that comes out of the property. They wanted to keep us from actually spending any of the money, and have, as far as I am aware, deposited a money into a savings account
