Grrr...my "amount of new credit" aka inquiries went from "very good" to "good" even though i didn't apply for new cards. I'm thinking its from consolidating my SL because my "installment loans" amount increased.

What is the limit for too many Credit cards?
My Credit score has been int he range of 660 690 for over too year and haven't gone over 700 yet. I've recently open up a new credit card around April and has been opening about one or two credit card every year since 2007.

Closing out new credit card accounts that have been opened during the past 120 days
I have around 10 credit cards in all. I wanted to know if my credit score will go up or do absolutely nothing if I close out three of my new credit card accounts that were opened during the past 120 days? They are low credit limits, i.e. $150, $350, and $500. I have just learned that opening up new credit cards actually lowers your credit score since it affects your average age of accounts established. Please let me know your thoughts and if you think it will help my credit score to just close them out since I don't use them and they are at a $0.00 balance anyway. Too soon to ask for a credit line increase?
I got a new credit card in May and woud like to ask for a credit line increase. I've got about a $3000 balance out of the $4200 limit; I've paid close to $1000 each month. Is it too soon to ask for an increase? Is there an amount of time I should wait to ask? Thank you.

Cell Phones and Credit
What are the criteria that the major cell phone companies look for when joining? I've had an ATT gophone for a while now and I am looking to finally upgrade. I don't have the best rating though...current car loan and student loan. 2 new credit cards current. And 3 aged collections.

Should I Open a New Credit Card?
Here's my basic info: No mortgage Installment (car & student loans): debt to credit ratio: 89% ($19,874 limit) Revolving: 7% - one used credit card and one old account (sleep train I think?), always pay full balance each month ($11,400 limit) Anddd that's it, credit history length 7 yrs 9 mos, avg 4 yrs I'm thinking that opening a new credit card might hurt more than help since my avg is pretty low but i'm not sure.

My KeyBank card was recently sold (transferred?) to Elan Financial Services. As a part of this process, it looks like Elan Financial Services ran a hard inquiry at at least 2 of the credit agencies.
