Hey everyone – TPAjet is back – I couldn’t get logged back in after all the passwords changed a few months ago (I don’t have my old email any more).

Anyway, after recently watching a couple movies something came to mind. One move was called The high cost of low prices, the other was Food, Inc. The first is all about the dark side of Wal-Mart, the other about our food system, and mentions the dark side of lots of companies from Monsanto (seeds) to McDonalds, to you name it in between.

My question is, what is the legal fine line that a movie maker is able to use these company’s names, even show the front of their stores and headquarters, and not get sued? Is it because they can claim the movie as educational?

I run a small video game company called ‘Lost Boys Games’. I know that ‘the Lost Boys’ is probably owned by someone. Furthermore, at the beginning of our games, a ‘Lost Boys’ watermark (logo) flashes on the screen with a short (two seconds or less) sound bite from the movie Hook that the lost boys say. Considering that I plan to make money off of these games, am I allowed to use the words ‘Lost Boys’ and/or the sound clip?

Furthermore, if one or both of these things turn out to be legally dangerous for me to use, how do I go about getting permission to use these?

It’s a long post, I am sorry. To sum it up, I am being harassed and stalked by a lot of people who seem to reference me in even films and radio. I am not sure how long it has gone on for but I am living with people who are also ding it and I am frightened for my life as they’ve lured me into monitored constantly (perhaps illegally) and they are enjoying it greatly at my expense. Here is an example, the first few answers to my questions were clearly insults so I had to add notes to ask them to please stop:

In the URL above you will notice the person above named “Monsoon” replied with a hug and so I am also hearing giggle noises from the woman Kristen that used-to live here (the one that wanted me to think she was pregnant by the same man that stalked me and basically abandoned me). I am also hearing noises from my neighbor who constantly plays sounds of water running outside my window while coughing, because I told them (on my private computer they hacked) that my ex boyfriend once gave me a birthday card that had a dog pissing on a birthday cake that they wanted me to say I should piss on their graves. Everything with them is about dual-meaning and because I have used this to show that they are being cruel, they are trying to use dual-meanings to both confuse others, to laugh at me, and to taunt me. I do not know Monsoon, I am sure you are a great member to that board, but notice how much I have typed and that is the response that I get? Is my situation too weird/difficult/unbelievable to respond at? Have I been been mean about expressing what I feel they’ve done and my concerns? I hope not, it’s not my intent. So that is what my Life has now become, some big joke because these people have continuously gotten away with threatening my Life, tormenting me and even stalking me. I believe this has gone on for many years, perhaps and just now escalating, and the people in my Life I have met have been these same type of people. I am not stir up more trouble, I am just looking for confirmation I suppose because everything I know tells me what they’re doing is wrong… and it confuses me and is painful (this part excites them the most) that all others do is sorta laugh about it. How can I resolve this or stop them or have them leave me alone, if it has gone on even long before the blogs? I included the links so you can see proof of how people respond to this situation, “put up or shut up”, “we’re the bosses now”, “my name must mean you’re evil”, etc. etc. I want to be adult about this and intelligent. Please advise.

Just an addition, I don’t talk to these people I live with or most of them really about this situation. The one person I did talk to about it, I find out later she’s “one of them”, as she tried to get me to institutionalize myself indefinitely, her Doctor tried to have me literally -pretend- (her words, give or take) to be suicidal. I keep to myself basically. I did name names on that blog, I felt I had no other choice, but seriously none of them I named ever contacted me or anything, even when many of them CLEARLY had my contact info to ask me to take it down or anything like that… instead they have spent almost years just pretending and trying to make me feel bad endlessly about it. It’s all very confusing and I don’t want them ruining my Life. I can get a restraining order on one of those people but clearly I am dealing with many. *sigh*

Here’s an example of what they’re already doing in my classes. I just started school again this quarter (today). Kathyrn (same name or close to the one that was the blond lady I spoke about, the one I thought stalker-man ended-up with, who I found in bed with an ex of mine named Brad, I bashed her a lot on one of my blogs, but only because I was lured to, either way, I publicly apologized for it on the same blog several times and that didn’t solve anything at all, apparently NONE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING TO ME HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH APOLOGIES, in fact I have reason to believe that was a set-up, as they are trying to make me hate Asian people (and have failed), so they tried to make me hate White women as well, she was likely also ‘placed’ in my Life. You will also notice the blond character in the movie I mentioned above “How to Train Your Dragon”, is named Astrid, the name of the cat I believe the blond woman may now have with her, I had to send them to a shelter because my new landfolk don’t except pets. Diana (Die Ana, they think me as Anne Frank because I started a blog and happen not to be fanatical about Nazis), and notice the Asian lady with her boobs sticking out… Jack (king of the world, Titanic, get it?). I am not implying those are fake names but from my perspective, what you have read you will clearly see how I could seem helpless about this situation. It’s happening with other people, on TV (shows, movies) even radio and some songs too. Internet sites as well, Google for example posted a It sucks but in a way it feels as if people are tormenting me to then turn around and make money off it while I have begged for help to keep my apartment because I noticed people paying attention to me, in no way was it intended to be “emotional blackmail”, as I have never even attempted to put some of these people in jail, where they belong. I am so lost and confused. Please help me with advice, that might help me even though there may be police officials/professionals that are “in on it”. That’s part of the reason why it seems hopeless. FYI, there have been no loud verbal or even physical contact with ANY of these people, although they have messed with my property (including stealing my bike) and have threatened too. I don’t want things to get worse or to continue the way they are for that matter.

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Oregon

My situation:

We have been living in our apartment for about nine months and a couple months ago my sister, whom I rent with, noticed water seeping from the ceiling. At this point she contacted our landlord and he told us that “it does this, what do you want me to do about it.” In other words, he refused to fix the plumbing issues that he knew were there and did not tell us existed before we started renting. This however was not the end of our plumbing drama. Not but a day ago I was watching a movie in my room when I heard what sounded like a shower, thinking nothing of it I continued watching my movie. And then the noise started to get louder, and louder, and louder. About five minutes after I originally heard the noise, I went into my sister’s room to ask her what that noise was and when I entered her room I was greeted my MASSIVE amounts of sewage water coming down in both our rooms. The water is yellow, stinks, and is making us sick. I’m also positive that this has caused the wood to rot which makes this a structural hazard as well. The water was from an overflowing toilet from our upstairs neighbor’s apartment. The seepage from a couple months ago was from a clogged shower drain in our upstairs neighbor’s apartment. It is unhealthy/unsafe to live there and we have to move because of his negligence, what sort of legal action can be taken?
