Possession of open alcohol in public
I recently received a ticket for a possession of open alcohol in public, I was issued the ticket as a passenger of a motor vehicle with the open substance. The officer told me that the situation wasn't that serious and wouldn't go on my record, however the court clerk that I spoke to informed me that if I pleaded guilty and payed the fine, that it was indeed going to be added to my record and that I should plea bargain the case to a lesser infraction.

Possession of a Stolen Vehicle
My question involves criminal law for the state of California I was recently on a jury (the trial is now complete) where we had to determine guilt on the following changes: Charge number 1: theft of a motor vehicle Charge number 2: possession of a stolen motor vehicle We decided that we could not determine who stole the vehicle or who was driving the vehicle when it was stopped some time later. So we said not guilty to charge number 1
