bandit
I need to know our legal rights in reference to a contract that was signed but when we received our copies the info was different than was explained to us at signing. We asked to take the papers to our RV (100 yards away) and look them over and read them to be sure we were actually wanting this membership. We were told NO! but after signing they would give us the contracts copies so we could read everything on them and know what we were getting.

Old Credit Cards with New Annual Membership Fees
I have been trying to improve my credits for years now but two of my oldest credit cards namely capital one and Merrick bank both opened in 2004 are now charging me an annual membership fee of about 79 dollars yearly. The credit limit on both cards is inconveniently small and the interest rate in the 20% range.

PenFed & Kroll ID TheftSmart: Lame or What?
Ok, so I get the PenFed fubar letter about the security breach and the offer for two-years of ID TheftSmart offered by Kroll. Not that I need yet another credit monitoring service, but I figured I'd take advantage of it at least to see what it was like. So, I used the membership number they supplied to sign up and filled in the only blanks on the personal data page that were not already pre-completed: SSN and DOB. Click on next and then get the message that they are unable to verify my identity with the information (SSN & DOB) provided. WTH? So I click on their manual verification link and go through a bunch of junk and an authorization to pull my credit. Finally, it says to call an 800 number to complete the verification within 30 days. I called and was greeted by a recording saying that "the number / extension dialed at Kroll's no longer exists; goodbye." Question: How the hell can I trust Kroll's with the critical task of monitoring all my credit reports when the morons simply can't even provide / maintain a working telephone number? I mean, can they even walk and chew gum at the same time

FREE Credit Report
Okay, It has been awhile and I believe I forgot. I thought we could get one free credit report per year. I went to Free Credit Report.com and got my score, they gave me the option of buying a membership with cancellation within 14 days if I changed my mind. I got my report and cancelled the membership with 5 days, but my credit card was charged $25.98 anyway. I thought this was supposed to be free
