What caused the home mortgage rates to sky rocket, causing people being unable to pay their monthly mortgages?

The recession was caused by people who are unable to repay their loans because home mortgage rates are too high? “The banks do not receive money from their original owners, triggering a credit crisis, and were able to lend money to large corporations companies.This, then had to cut some expenses and have started to lay off milliers.Donc, causing mortgage rates to rise so high, who started this financial mess in the first place?

First time homebuyer – are there good programs if you don’t qualify for 1st time homebuyer assistance in MN?

We make too much money to qualify for MN first time homebuyer programs but we can’t afford a down payment. Does anyone know of other programs that help with loans to cover the down payment or a lower down payment? I want to know before I talk to a mortgage person so that I choose the right one. Thanks!

Trying to understand the subprime mortgage crisis (WILL PICK BEST ANSWER)?

I just have a quick question about the subprime mortgage crisis. From what I have gathered, the subprime mortgage crisis occurred because banks where offering these adjustable mortgages in which, the monthly payments started out low and then, after about 5 years, they were upped to make up the difference. After that 5 year time period, people realized that they couldn’t make the monthly mortgages payments and were forced to foreclose. Was this not a problem before because we didn’t have these types of mortgages or because the lending regimen for these loans got loose? I also read that it was because interest rates fell and house values were growing between 2004-2005 so the incentive to buy a home was high but I’m not sure why the interest rates would fall and why housing values would grow during that time?

what is a real estate tax stamp? I live in New York state.?

I am refianancing my mortgage, combining 2 loans and was told today I need to have $ 2500 at closing because of these tax stamps.

Salary or Commission?

I work for a Mortgage Company as a loan processor and personal assistant to two loan officers. I found out last week that they don’t want to pay me salary anymore because they have aren’t closing enough loans. Now they want to move me to commission which is actually more than my salary was but my salary was guaranteed. If they do not close a loan then I do not get paid and I am not exactly at a place in my life where I can go without being paid. I tried talking to one of my bosses but that got me no where. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
RIGHT NOW I DO GET PAID A BASE PAY PLUS COMMISSION. BUT ITS BEEN MOSTLY TH BASE PAY AND HARDLY ANY COMMISSION.

Where do I find out about scholarships for single mothers going back to college or older adult learners?

I’m a single, divorced mother of 3 who is back in college. I am finding out how expensive it is, being a full time student and living off of loans in order to support myself, three kids and a mortgage. If there’s a scholarship for driving a VW Beatle, then there has to be a few for me. My GPA is 3.86.

What kind of loan can I get as a first time home buyer?

I am looking to purchase a bank owned home and I live in California. I have a credit score of 650 and I make about 40,000 a yr. I am looking to purchase a home but I am not sure what kind of loan is available to me as a first time home buyer. I have heard about alot of loans available but I’m not sure which ones are the most suitable for me. I am also not sure which lender or mortgage company to go with? Any ideas would help!
