I have been told that the Wyoming laws are some of the best in terms of asset protection and for an LLC entity. My home state is Florida. Both states are income tax free of course. If I set up an LLC in Wyoming and remain in FL does it matter if my business checking acct has an FL address? Do I need to go the extra length to create a business checking account in Wyoming instead?

One LLC is for a brokerage account and the other for a home based business that is performed strictly by phone, email, and the internet no brick and mortar whatsoever. If I set both to be Wyoming LLC’s and move to a state that has income tax, would I be doing anything wrong by avoiding paying the state income taxes as long as my entire income derived from an internet based business? Thank you in advance.

My other conflict is that attorneys that specialize in setting up LLC’s make it sound like rocket science and they tend to charge $1500 +. I am not comfortable setting it up on my own, but what am I giving up by using one of the online companies that do this for a living and only charge $300 to $400 or so? I know I need an LLC and I know I would like it to be in Wyoming, other than that is it really that complicated?

My friend has a LLC for some property he owns with his wife. I know that a husband and wife count as one for the number of members (owners) and the LLC has zero asset protection.

The question is, if he adds his kids, under 18, will he get around the solo ownership have a valid LLC, asset protection wise?

A solo member LLC has zero asset protection because of two lawsuits: Albrecht in CO and another in CA. The LLC replaces a GP and needs two or more owners to be valid. A solo is disregarded by the IRS and is a sole proprietorship. Many people don’t realize these facts.

We had a male employee go on maternity leave for 2 weeks. Another female employee did some of his work while he was on leave. She billed our company through her LLC for the time she spent doing his work. It was a total of 15 hours billed. This male employee offerred to work from home if need be.

There have been many other times where I and other employees have covered for co-workers while they were sick or on vacation, but have never been compensated on the side for doing that work. This same female employee complains that she does not have enough time to finish her own work, so the company is now redistributing some of her work to other employees to relieve her burden.

I would like to know if this in any way violates any labor laws or equal opportunity laws. Please advise.

Thanks.

What happens if I don’t have the funds to pay for one month and therefore break the pymt arrangement? They say they will sue me…what exactly does that mean if my business is a LLC. p.s. my business credit cards do not say LLC, as they were obtained prior to me becoming a single member LLC. Does that make a difference?
