Can we sue a labor union for Breach of Contract?

My husband was recruited from a non-union shop by a labor union who promised him a number of things, one being that if he worked for the union for 5 years he'd be fully vested in the retirement program. He joined the summer of 2007 & things went well for the next 14 months, during which time we purchased an RV for him to stay in as most of the jobs were out of town, a 1-ton truck to pull it with, and a heavy-duty service truck for him to work with (we paid for the service truck out of our savings.) We accumulated around 65k in debt related to this union job, which we had no trouble paying for when he was working. He was laid off June 2008 and hasn't worked since! His union blames the mis-conduct of former Board Trustee members for the lack of work, missing pension funds, etc.

National Credit Adjusters – Operating Illegally – Credit bureaus won’t take action

National Credit Adjusters (NCA) through their affiliate International Financial Services (Intl) has placed bogus negative trade line items on all three of my credit reports.  They are collecting for two Internet payday loan companie called Planinum B and Debt Doctor.  These are not my loans.    Payday lenders are regulated in my state by the Washington Dept. of Financial Institutions.  All lenders, even those operating via  the internet must be licensed by the state to du business with Washington residents.  Neither of the NCA's clients are licensed, neither is Intl for that matter.  So, NCA is aggressively trying to collect a debt for a client that is not legal in my state.   I advised Equifax customer service about the need for proper licensure and that without it, state law specifically states they cannot attempt collection activity including reporting to the credit bureaus.  EQFX indicated that NCA validated the debt and the item will stay.  I repeated the fact that all entities involved are operating illegally and they cannot collect or report.
