AmEx sent me a new card
I had posted a question about this before, but I thought I'd mention this. I asked AmEx to backdate my new Blue Cash CC that I just applied for on the 27th of March, I was approved and they sent me the card next day air VIA UPS, and that card naturally said Member Since 11, now today I get in the mail another card that says Member Since 91, I never asked for them to send me a card that said that (I'm not complaining, believe me). My question is.....is this normal?

I Have to Buy Fico Standard to Find My CS?
*I apologize if I am creating this post in the wrong section I created this account today with hopes of finding my credit score. Once I finish browsing this website, I am under the impression that I have to purchase Fico Standard in order to acquire my credit score. Is this correct or am I overlooking a thing or two

Credit card cancelled as requested by user
I recently applied to a credit card company for a Rewards card that was advertised at 11-19.9 % interest rate. In talking with the intake specialist, I repeadly told him that if his company charges me more than 11% in their review then don't even bother sending the card as I will not accept it. I was assured that he put that request in the package

Full File Disclosure from Credit Bureaus
Sorry if this question has been asked. Do we get a full file disclosure when we pull our reports directly from the Big Three? The reason I asked is because various industry experts maintain that information that is removed due to CRTP still remains at the bureau but is not included when we pull our reports

What is the advantage to using an attorney to settle?
I just received a letter from my ISP accusing me of downloading a copyrighted adult movie, and stating that they have received a subpoena from the plaintiff's law firm, seeking my name and contact info. The plaintiff is law firm is Dunlapp, Grubb & Weaver, and the document was filed at a US district court in Washington DC.

Help understanding the reporting of paid collections
Hi, Can someone help me understand this? I would like to know what (if anything) I can do about a paid collection that is over 5 years old? I live in NY. I was under the impression that a paid collection should not be reporting past 5 years once it is paid (for NY) is this true? I've tried to get Experian to delete and the have refused, updating my report to read, disputed and verified (something along those lines). Eq and Tu deleted it without my intervention. I know this is hurting my scores a bit. It is due to fall off in 2/2012 (7.5 years), but I would like to have this off the sooner the better. Thanks in advance.

Trying to get my FICO Score up
Hello Everyone, I wanted to get some advice on a plan to improve my credit score, which I named my nuclear plan. I want to purchase a home in the near future, but currently, my credit score is in the low 600’s. I have a total revolving debt of $16,997, in which $13,130 is on open accounts and $3,847 is on a loan with a fixed payment. I can currently take out a loan from my 401k and eliminate all the debt, with the exception of the loan amount. I would like to keep that paying them so that I can maintain some active payment history. Now, I know that I will lose out on the compounding interest on my 401K, but, I currently have at least 25 years left to work. My reasoning is to take the loan because I’m paying an average of 23.41% on my CC, with some as high as 29.99%. The interest I pay on my 401K loan will go back to my account. Therefore, making the money work for me, instead of just sitting there doing nothing for my present day situation. My lender told me that they don’t count 401K loans and it will drastically lower my monthly payments. So I guess I’m trying to see the potential effect on my FICO score. I looked at one scoring model through Experian, and it actually showed it going down further. I was under the impression that the more available credit you have, the higher my score would be

Do i need insurance
Hi i recently purchased a car from a dealer. It was less than inspectable but was sold with a new sticker i tried to return it friday and was unable so i reported the dealer to the state police friday was the last day of my temporary registration, so i won't be able to do anything untill monday.
