HOA Contractor Unlicensed, Causes Damage
Our HOA President and another officer hired a contractor for a small painting job they knew beforehand was unlicensed and uninsured, but chose him because of his relatively lower rates. Working in my unit, the contractor removed a window A/C and later reinstalled it, albeit incorrectly. In the middle of the night I found that the A/C had drained into my unit and flooded a good portion of the laminate flooring

Can I legally withhold my ex-roommate’s deposit?
I received a voicemail from my landlord on the last day of our lease stating she thought it was immature of whoever lived in the basement room to paint it lime green with purple writing in acrylic paint on the walls, when we were specifically told to not paint any rooms unless it was a neutral color with her permission first. And that if it wasn't painted that night (the new tenants were to move in in 2 days) that she would hire professional painters and our deposit would be exhausted. Our landlord was also upset with the fact that that roommate's room was never vacuumed (bobbypins, coins, ponytails still on the floor even in addition to a glob of dirt) and that there was a bunch of food left in the kitchen and the kitchen was very "disgusting"

Slipped on Wet Floor in Restaurant
Last weekend, I was visiting a restaurant with a friend for lunch. It had been raining pretty bad, so there was a good amount of water on the floor in the entrance of the restaurant. There was no mat and no wet floor sign.

Felt forced to quit.
Today I was giving a option at work either quit or take up with HR. Now I worked in that retail store for 1 year and 3 months. I was told that I was on film throwing firecrackers known as poppers on the floor in my work area

leaking celing
One week ago my youngest son was taking a bath, after his bath he came down stairs and was pluging in a lamp in our livingroom when he felt drips of watter on his neck there was a water mark about a foot round on the celing next to the wall. I went upstairs to see where the water was coming from. There was a small amount of water on the floor next to the tub but I couldnt see anything wrong.

5 day notice from LL to commence summary proceedings
Since June, we live in a rent stabilized apartment in Brooklyn, NY. Ever since we moved in, we had problems with our apartment - 2 weeks without a sink and countertops in the kitchen, unfinished painting, heat problems, and the worst was, when we found out that we have no floor underneath our feet. The floor literally consist of the floor boards that we are walking on
