health insurance and divorce
I have a friend that has been separated for about 2 years and she wants to divorce her husband but her husband says that if she does so, his health insurance will find out and raise the premium substantially (due to the fact that he had colon cancer 2 years ago). Is this true or is he just trying to get a tax break

120+ days late vs. charged off – 5 year old information on report
Although I use my credit responsibly now, I got into some problems a few years ago. In 2005, I negotiated settlements to pay off a couple of credit cards for less than the full balance. Here's what I see on my reports: Transunion score 684 Account 1 - current status is Payment after charge off/collection; Past due amount is 0 Account 2 does not show up at all Equifax score 695 Account 1 - current status 120+ days overdue; Past due amount is Not Reported. However, on the "Recent Payment History" graph, the months after the accounts were charged off indicate "OK" status; description says "Paid collection" and "Account closed by credit grantor." Account 2 - current status 120+ days overdue; Past due amount is Not Reported. However, on the "Recent Payment History" graph, the months after the accounts were charged off indicate "OK" status; description says "Account paid for less than full balance" and "Closed or paid account / zero balance." The overall information in both reports is correct, other than the fact that Transunion doesn't have any information on one of the accounts. I was a bit concerned about the Equifax report because a status of 120+ days overdue sounds like a more current problem than a charged off account. Since the Equifax score is actually a bit higher than Transunion I guess I don't need to be worried at the moment, but I wanted to double check, especially with regard to the future. Does the fact that it's listed as currently overdue mean that it's continuing to affect my score as if it were a more recent problem, and/or that it won't drop off the report in 2012 (7 years from original problem)?
