Take Roommate to Small Claims for Electric

My roommate moved out with notice, she was not on the lease, but the elctric bill was in her name as the main account holder (for 6mos+), and I was listed as a contact or someone able to disscus the bill. I have gotten different response from the electric company about how we could have handled the final bil so i dont really know the right answer on how we should have done itl. Never helped with any mortage payments

Location: New Jersey Hi...I have been married for 14 years and had purchased my home a few years prior to marriage...thru out marriage my wife has always refused to help with mortgage payments or any type of maintance of home, or homeowners insurance etc...basically anything to do with home...her answer was always .."it's your house why should I" even though she has lived in the home...she actually makes more than I do..but just helps with the electric bill, cable bill, car insurance, and garbage disposal bill...these she says she helps with because she uses the service ( but when mad she won't help and since my name and my credit ratting, I have to worry about them) ...she says since the house is in my name she won't help with it...but always says as a threat that if we get divorced she wants half the house...I can show that it has always been myself paying for the house ,since she insists on separate accounts and all payments having been from my checking account or for the last few years direct payment electronically from my account. Even when I was out of work for a few months due to a injury, she would not help and I had to scrape by to make payments... My Question: In case of a divorce is there anything I can do to protect my house..??

Felony Theft for Holding Property for money that is owed to me B2B

I own a small retail frurniture store in texas and I made a verbal agreement with said party to pay x amount of the lease, and half the electric bill and they could use all the walls to sell his paintings and the back room for painting, well in the process of a art show his artist damaged some of the sofas and he agreed to pay half of the cost to fix the sofas.

Collection on credit report

I bought a home last year, which was contingent on my own house selling.  We had already moved out and setup utilities at the new house, but our buyer never qualified and the whole deal crumbled.  By the time I cancelled the electric service at the new house, the owners had racked up a $650 electric bill.  When I called to dispute the bill, the electric provider said that since it was in my name I had to pay the bill.  I did not think this was fair and sent the bill and a letter explaining the situation to the owners.  I never heard anything else about it until I checked my FICO score and it had tumbled to 654.  I had assumed that they paid the bill and had no idea that the bill was still outstanding.  When I had checked my score in March, it was 756, with no sign of a collection on the report.  I never received any collection notices or letters from the electric provider or the collection agency.  Needless to say, I will pay the bill, but is there a way to get the collection off my record?  I have always had decent credit and have a long history with no past dues.  It's a bummer that my credit has to be ruined due to a misunderstanding.  I filed a dispute with Transunion and their resolution was no change.  I am awaiting resolution from Equifax, but don't expect them to change anything.
