Coworker files claim against me – if I file a claim is it retaliation?

Possible Harrasment?
Good Morning, my wife has been taking a lot of verbal abuse from a co-worker lately and im not sure what we can do about it. She has called my wife stupid,ridiculous,unprofessional and mocked her saying i make 3 times what you make she is an RN and "charge nurse" my wife is a CMA. this has all been done in front of the coworkers about 4 of the co workers have written letters to the manager explaining the problem this certain coworker is starting but the manager has not done anything but had a meeting with the problem coworker.

Terminated after missing 6 consecutive days of work
I have been sick off & on the past 4 months and just recently had a severe infection where I ended up missing 6 consecutive days of work, visiting a walk in clinic once & the ER twice in that time period. When I returned to work, they didn't even ask me for a Drs. note but after 3 days of work I was terminated stating my position was eliminated.
