Unfair Treatment, is this a type of Discrimination

I have been working at my company for 3 years and have 8 year of experience in my field. I work for a very large company; my department has about 40 personnel. All the employees in my department are all salary except for a co-worker and I, who are hourly and have to clock in and out. For the past 3 years I’ve been asking if I can be moved to salary, but I have been told time and time again by HR other department heads that due to a “law” in California I can not be moved to salary without a Bachelors degree. I currently have my Associates degree and working to finish my Bachelors since, but I recently have found that in fact an employee who was hired 1 year ago and has about 4-5 more years of experience than I and does the exact same work that I do, but just in a different group, has only his Associates degree and is paid salary, this to me seems very unfair. Is this favoritism or discrimination? I show no reason to be considered a bad employee, actually I have been told that I’m probably the best the company has for the type of work that do and it reflects in my reviews. I’m interested to know if this is possible cause for a lawsuit. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Collecting unemployment after being fired in california

If the company i work for is firing me for performance issues which they can do i know. But my question is, if i didnt break any laws or put myself or others in danger while at work on the clock, will california fight for my unemployment? And will i get it for sure, if i appeal the companys rejection? And if i make 2 thousand a month, or 430$ a week, how much will the unemployment check be?

Fired for harassment, first offence

I was fired last month after an employee in another division of the company lodged a formal complaint about some remarks I made to her in a bar after a work party. We were both off the clock and outside the workplace.

I invited her to the bar because I wanted to thank her for helping me during some work events preceeding the work party. In the presence of other employees, I made the remarks – telling her I loved her for the hard work she had done.

I understand although I was off the clock and outside the workplace, I am expected to maintain professional conduct with other employees. This was my first offence and I feel the action taken was too strong – I was expecting a reprimand/warning.

I was hurt at work close to the end of my shift. I went to my supervisor who told me to clock out and he’d take me to the doctor. After I left the doctors office he told me he was taking me for a drug test. I informed him I was in some pain and off the clock and didn’t think I should have to go. I was fired on the spot. Is this legal?

I am trying to get my finances in order so we can buy a house in a couple of years but I am not sure how to proceed. I have 2 old Cap1 accounts that have a DOLA of Oct 2003. They are with a CA that shows a DOLA of April 2004, but this particular CA has only held the debt since June 2008. I am quite confused as to what type of activity “restarts the clock” and what to do next.

Any thoughts?

I got clocked at 66 in a 45. i date i got my ticket was 04/10/10. the police officers gun was last tested on 07/07/2009. i heard in pa it has to be tested every 60 days?

Can state police clock me off the highway?

Uninsured Dominoe’s Driver

I was hit by a dominoes driver who failed to yeild entering ongoing traffic. She was on her way to deliver pizza. She was uninsured. Is Dominoes Liable in any way. Are they responsible, in any way, for an insured or unisured driver while their on the clock driving. I really don’t what specific questions to ask but, I can’t afford to end up pennyless because I dont know the fine print. The driver she hit was a pregnat mother who needs her car for the upcoming baby. Any advice or pertinent responses would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Prohibited from working due to pregnancy issue

I am pregnant and under the care of my ob/gyn. Due to extreme nausea and vomiting my doctor disontinued oral medications. Instead they had a home health agency come to my home and provide me with a pump that provides medication for me around the clock. The medicaion is administred via a small catheter that is inserted under my skin. I was going to return to work, and called my supervisor to advise that I would have to return with my medication pump. She informed me that I was not able to work until the pump had been permamently removed, stating that I would be a liability to the company if I came to work with the pump on.
