Landlord claiming cat smell
My cat died in June, the following November my hot water heater started leaking while I was away for thanksgiving. It spent probably a week leaking and when I got home my apartment smelled musty and moldy.

SureDeposit Used on Security Deposit
In May, 2009, I moved into an apartment in the Cincinnati, OH, area. The apartment offered me a "no deposit" offer - the apartment manager stated this was due to our (husband and my) good credit and the referral from our last apartment manager. We moved out in May, 2010, after satisfying our lease.

House Flooded, Became Inhabitable, No refund of last month’s rent
Our rented house had a spot on the carpet that kept coming back no matter how many times I cleaned it over a 2 week period. We called the landlord and he sent out a plumber who said that there was a leak in the walls that was expanding into the floor, and that is what caused the leak. They could not find the source.

Moved out, landlord wants payment for new carpet, paint
Daughter moved out of house due to hostile living environment caused by another roommate. In her bedroom, there were a few drop-size stains on the carpet and holes on the wall where she hung pictures, and the movers scraped the paint when they moved her furniture out. She left a $300 check to cover the costs.

Suing Landlord for my Deposit
After giving my landlord 4 months, sending him & then the Owners letters asking they send me my deposit, I finally suied. A month later he counter-sues stating I own him back rent money (I Don't) and that the carpet had to be replaced
