How do you calculate your AAoA?

AmEx sent me a new card
I had posted a question about this before, but I thought I'd mention this. I asked AmEx to backdate my new Blue Cash CC that I just applied for on the 27th of March, I was approved and they sent me the card next day air VIA UPS, and that card naturally said Member Since 11, now today I get in the mail another card that says Member Since 91, I never asked for them to send me a card that said that (I'm not complaining, believe me). My question is.....is this normal?

Soft pull
I finances a new car in June 2010 through Toyota Financial. I have been on time with my payments, no problems there. However, I just pulled my Experian report, they seem to have soft pulled me on December 19th. I know this is not typical of a car finance company to continue to soft pull you after the loan has been made. My credit has not changed since the time of the loan. Lets say that one day I was late and had to default on some of my cards, and toyota financial saw this but I was current on my loan payments what could they do? I dont get the purpose of this soft pull.
