So this morning I updated my report on credit karma just for the sake of checking to see the effect of a new card I just opened. So the update showed a significant BOOST in my score because it reported the average age of accounts as 11 years! I have 4 tradelines...

Limited credit history, looking for advice

This is my first post here, and I have a few questions I hope someone can help out with.   First, a little backstory. (Questions way at the bottom)   Up until about a year ago, I never really paid attention to my credit, and was super lazy about keeping track of everything

Fee to fix credit report

Hello, Three years ago I had terrible credit and my average score was 508, I initially paid Lexington Law Firm to clear my report.  After 3 months of no change, I decided to do the work myself.  I went to different website and followed everything that pertained to my situations, asked questions and followed advice that was given to me. Thanks to God and help that I obtained, I was able to remove judgements and over 30 negative items off my credit report.

Closing out new credit card accounts that have been opened during the past 120 days

I have around 10 credit cards in all.  I wanted to know if my credit score will go up or do absolutely nothing if I close out three of my new credit card accounts that were opened during the past 120 days?  They are low credit limits, i.e. $150, $350, and $500.  I have just learned that opening up new credit cards actually lowers your credit score since it affects your average age of accounts established.  Please let me know your thoughts and if you think it will help my credit score to just close them out since I don't use them and they are at a $0.00 balance anyway.  My average age of credit cards is 5 years.   Thanks! Transunion FICO: 672 Equifax FICO: 586 Experian FAKO: 698

Ok guys, help  me out here.  That tempting BT for 3% transaction fee, 0% interest for 1+ (until January 1, 2012) yrs is teasing me!  (BT would be about 11.5k)   I have a cc debt, at 4.99%, calculated on the average daily balance.

Possible Age Discrimination?

This is actually for my father. He's 54 years old and is an employee that works from home for a telecommunications company. My father has not received a raise in 7 years, the first 4 years was due to everyone was supposedly on a "freeze" and the next 3 years, he got a new manager and dropped my dad's ranking so he's no longer in the 10% that receive raises or bonuses

I've got a whole bunch of store cards 3 of which I opened within the last 4 months. I'm thinking about closing each of these 3 accounts to bring up my average credit length. Can anyone think of a reason NOT to do this ?
