I hurt was on the job in Aug of 2008. I have had four surgeries so far on my left arm. for nerve and bicep repair. Since then i have developed nerve damage in my right arm due to over compensating for my left arm. Due to fact that i still may need future surgeries on my left and right , permanent nerve and ligament which are not allow to put weight on my arms and have continual pain. What are my options for the future if i’m not able to return work and have permanent retrictions and limitations?

I recently had a problem. This is how the event unfolded, I was checking my son’s work, and he was doing it wrong, so I took the ruler he was using and tried to explain how to do it. I asked him what he had been trying to do, he looked towards the TV that my wife had on and was watching, so I tapped him on the cheek to get his attention back, I did not hit him or apply more force than was needed to get his attention. It must have startled him because he cried out and started rubbing his cheek. This is something he has done to both me and my wife before. I was surprised so I just looked at him. My wife immediately got up and started yelling and fighting me. I did not hit her back but had to grab her arms to keep her from hitting me. I told her to calm down and that I didn’t hit my son, but she kept swinging at me (I held her arms back from me but I did not hold on to her) and clawing at me. I picked up my son’s workbook and tried to show her what he was doing, but she kept yelling that she didn’t care and then ripped pages from the book, yanked the book from my hands and threw it at me. I told her again that I did not hit him. She went and looked at his cheek (which he had been rigorously rubbing this whole time), and said that it was red. I said that it was red because he had rubbing it so much, plus his cheeks get very red when he gets worked up or upset. She asked him if I hit him and he hesitated, looked at me, looked back at her, and nodded. Whether he wanted the attention or was scared to disagree with her while she was acting like that I don’t know. She continued to try to hit me so I removed myself to the bedroom, I shut the door because she was trying to come after me. She left the house at that point and I came out. During this whole event she managed to hit me twice with her fists and then with the book, leaving marks that are still there, three days later. The cops said that they had no signs of abuse, and they checked both my wife and my son less than half an hour after the incident. My son never fell to the ground unless he did it after my wife had already gotten up. I would never hit my children like that, and I would never hit my wife. I removed myself from the situation when I saw that she wasn’t going to calm down and listen. But as I said before, he has reacted the same way when my wife has touched him and to me before. I am not sure why he yells out like that when he gets surprised or anxious, but I have even talked to her about it before. I am not sure why my wife has taken this so far. Now she has filed assault 4th on me for her and my son, and taken out a EPO on me for her and the kids, and had a social worker check him out. She and her mother are telling him that I am a bad person and probably coaching him on what “the truth” is. My son is not a bad person, but he will lie to stay out of trouble, and my wife has a tendency to blow up on anyone who disagrees with her. He is six years old and doesn’t really know what is going on. What should I do? She also has a history of acting like this and has even attacked her parents and thrown fits in front of my family.
