Non-compete agreement
All, I am a financial planner and have been asked to sign a non-compete before I prospect any clients and have them be clients of the firm. I have been working for the firm for close to a year and am surprised that only now should a non-compete be brought out. I am looking for some advice to see how constrictive the wording is should I leave the firm and wants to take clients, and also if it an enforceable agreement.

Trouble removing a collection as promised
I learned something today I wanted to tell about, for other's in my boat...I got a collection last year (they billed wrong address) and by the time I found out, my score had plummeted (689 to 610). Of course I found out while trying to get a mortgage, after bragging about my post-bankrutcy "high" score! So, upon paying the collection agency (or "CA") the minute I found out (January), they promised to fully delete ( they were actually very nice)

Company telling me I am not who I say I am.
Hello, I have had an account open with an online company NCsoft for two years now. They recently sent me a message telling me that I am not the original owner of my accont and that the account has been closed due to that fact. My account has been under the same name and address details since it was originally created

Responding to Stipulation Discontinuing Action Without Prejudice
NYSEG had me served with a lawsuit and I answered pro-se, requesting that the case be dismissed due to the courts lack of jurisdiction and NYSEG's misrepresentation of the facts. (Defense: C.P.L.R.

Paying on a non compete settlement and Company closed.
I work as a hairstylist and I breached my non compete with my previous employer. When I was sued, I agreed to pay the amount specified because I did not want to blow a bunch of money on court fees when I have been told from multiple sources that Kansas upholds non compete contracts.

Engineering Confidentiality Agreement
My husband works for an automotive engineering company here in Detroit, MI. He had worked for them for 9 years when the company was bought out two years ago, by a firm in CA. The new employer made all existing employees sign a new no-compete and confidentiality agreement that states that employees can not work for a competing company for one year after either leaving or being let go.
