Divorcing and I do not own the property that I put a Manufactured home on California

by jedwan on April 30, 2011

About 8 years ago, my husband and I had a verbal agreement with his mother and father that they would will us a piece of property. We purchased and placed a manufactured home on said property and made multiple improvements to the land. My husband and I are currently going through a divorce. In the divorce, I have taken up prime residence of our family home with our three children. My husbands father is now deceased and his mother just gave the property away to another family member. This family member just served me paperwork requiring that I move in 60 days removing our manufactured home, that he has the intention of placing a home on the property. What rights do I have? My home is very modern and fixed onto the property (we purchased the home for 60k and made about 15k worth of improvements to the property). I want to end up with the home and property at the end of the divorce, at least until our youngest child, who is 3 turns 18.
