What Is A Historical Day On August 5th That Is Related To Music Or Theater?
I have a project due and i can’t seem to find a date for these things. We were aloud to pick what they were on so I picked mine for music and theater. Anyone know any for before the year 1800 or one between 1800 and 1900? It must be somewhere close to August 5th…. A couple days of doesn’t matter to much. Thanks!
1735 – John Peter Zenger was acquitted of treason for his writings
1858 – the first transatlantic telegram was transmitted
1957 – American Bandstand premiered.
John Wilkes Booth, the theater actor that killed Abraham Lincoln, invested some of his growing wealth in various enterprises during the early 1860s, including land speculation in Boston’s Back Bay section.
He also started a business partnership with John Ellsler, manager of the Cleveland Academy of Music, and another friend, Thomas Mears, to develop oil wells in northwestern Pennsylvania, where an oil boom had started in August 1859, following Edwin Drake’s discovery of oil there.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wilkes…
According to Wikipedia, August 5th 1800 to August 5th 1900 absolutely nothing of importance or otherwise happened in the way of births, deaths, or important event.
Also there are no Holidays and observances, August 5th 1800 to August 5th 1900.
I DID look, good luck on this one.
